St Mark's Basilica is a place of worship. Visitors are required to dress appropriately to respect the sanctity of the site.
Important: Staff reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone not adhering to the dress code. Disposable cover-ups may be available for purchase nearby, but it is best to come prepared.
For security reasons and to protect the monument, no luggage, backpacks, or large bags are allowed inside the Basilica.
There is a free luggage deposit facility located at Ateneo San Basso (Piazzetta dei Leoncini), just around the corner from the main entrance. Please deposit your bags before joining the queue.
Photography: Taking photographs and filming (video) is strictly forbidden inside the Basilica. This rule is enforced to preserve the sacred atmosphere and protect the artworks.
Silence: Visitors are asked to speak in a low voice and respect the silence of the church.
Guided Tours: Guided tours are available and recommended to fully appreciate the history and art of the Basilica. Audio guides are also available at the entrance.
